Is it possible to hypnotize someone without them knowing?

I have heard tales of this being done. If it were possible, that would be cool to know how to do. =P

not possible, all hypnotism is just suggestions. a person chooses whether or not to follow them. That does not mean hypnotism is fake but it does not work the way it does in the movies.

    It only happens in the movies. :) It takes concentation on the part of the person being hynotized. Therefore, anyone who does not want to be hypnotized, will not be.

    Once hypnotized, people won’t do anything that they feel is morally wrong. You may be able to trick someone into say taking their clothes off by telling them they are getting into a shower.

    Try self hypnosis if you are interested in it. It’s great for stress relief and breaking habits. :)

    It is not possible to do so. It is not the Hypnotist that Hypnotises. It is the person they give the suggestion to.But I was hypnotised so I could have a bad tooth out.My hypnotherapist knew I was scared about having a bad tooth removed. I was put under. When I went to dentist,I don’t remember having the tooth removed. No anasthetic. No pain Gone. So in answer to your question, if the process of suggetion is made prior to a hypnotic trance, and the receiver is willing, then yes they will respond.But you can’t make an unwilling person go under.

    no because hypnosis is that person becoming ‘aware’ and extremelet relaxed, and its not possible to perform it when they don;t know

    Nope. Not everyone can be hypnotized. If you are skeptical, it won’t happen. People that are susceptible to being hypnotized are those with rich, fantasy lives.
